The March 2025 ballot closes Friday the 21st of March 2025 and will be drawn Wednesday the 26th of March for a place starting in 2025.
(or the day your child turns five years old).
You will be notified via email of the results 5 business days after the ballot is drawn.
Ponsonby runs up to 2 Out of Zone ballots a year if spaces are available.
One in Term 1, March and one in Term 4, October.
Extra Out of Zone ballots can be run at any other time that Ponsonby Primary requires, ballots can also be cancelled if the class numbers are full.
Forms can be printed off the links below and must be submitted to the school office or kfalefitu@ponsprim.school.nz along with a copy of your child’s passport or NZ birth certificate. If you do not have a New Zealand or Australian passport then proof of right to study in NZ must also be submitted.
The ballot is drawn where at all possible by a lawyer and you will be informed within 5 working days of the ballot being drawn of the results.
For students new to school (5 years olds) then you should enter the ballot closest to their 5th birthday.
First priority must be given to students who have been accepted for enrolment in the following special programme(s) run by the school and approved by the Secretary for Education.* Note we have no programmes to qualify for this category.
Second priority must be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
Third priority must be given to applicants who are siblings of former students.
Fourth priority must be given to any applicant who is a child of a former student of the school.
Fifth priority must be given to any applicant who is either a child of an employee of the school (2 days of employment or more) or a child of a member on the school board.
Sixth priority must be given to all other applicants applying out of zone.
