School facilities support student learning and wellbeing by providing safe, inspiring spaces to grow and succeed.
Heated Pool
The pool operates through terms 1 and 4. Free swimming is available at lunchtime.
School Hall | Gymnasium
The School Hall/Gymnasium has a full-sized basketball court. Children use the kitchen for cooking. The hall is used for PE lessons, sports, performances and school assemblies held each alternate Friday.
Ball Courts
We have some multi purpose netball courts situated both outside the school hall and on the top court under the canopy.
Music Studio
We have turned the old dental clinic into a beautiful full music suite.
School Field
Is predominantly grass with its own irrigation system and an artificial turf running track.
Historic Classroom | Administration Block
The main building is classified as an historic building and was saved in 1990 by John Hill and other parents in the Ponsonby area.
Junior Blocks
The new Junior Block was opened in 2013. It includes 7 classrooms and will be home to the year New Entrant Y1/2 children.
Playgrounds
Ponsonby Primary School has two playgrounds with equipment to support upper body strength development.
Fundraising is crucial for Ponsonby Primary, providing the resources needed to turn ideas into action and support growth.
It enables PPS to create lasting impact, fuel innovation and offer valuable opportunities for ākonga. Without it, important initiatives and improvements would remain out of reach. Fundraising is about building a better learning environment and investing in the future.
